Block diagram
The entire software is interrupt driven.
A timer inside the microcontroller generates a 512µs interrupt driven timebase.
The microcontroller generates a 100µs control pulse to the FET gate.
The flyback pulse is amplified and fed into the microcontroller comparator.
The pulse width is measured and will increase when a target is near the coil.
The time base is also used for the audio signal generation.
