The coil shell and lower stem were bought.
The stem constists of a low cost aluminum crutch, a piece of carbon fishing pole,
drain pipe for the arm cuff and a bicycle handle bar extender for the hand grip.
For the electronics and battery housing, 50 mm drain pipe + end caps were used, which makes it robust and rain proof.
Some pictures may be more inspirational than a thousand words:
Nylon screws, glue and pipe clamps were used to attach everything to the crutch stem.
The screws were cut off after the glue had settled.
Batteries and battery charger:
As a finishing touch, a hook was attached to the end of the stem to prevent the headphones from falling off when the detector
is carried / transported.
The hook can be turned away to release the headphones.
