A pulse induction detector needs good batteries.
The batteries should be rechargeable and allow at least 10 hrs of detection.
The best choice for the Pickini detector are NiMH (1.2V) or NiZn (1.6V) batteries.
Here, 2 packs of 4 NiZn were used.
Capacity: 1500 mAH, less than equivalent NiMH batteries,
but higher voltage ( 1.6V vs 1.2V for NiMH).
In the adapter:
One of these battery packs is 6.4V / 1500 mAH. The 2 battery adapters are connected in series
by clipping on 2 9V adapters.
The batteries are charged with a constant current source.
The output current = 1.25 / R1. R1 = 6.8E results in about 180 mA.
The nominal charging current is about 1/10th of the battery capacity, so for 2300mAH, it would be 230 mA.
